Poem 4

Tea

sweet sounds of pouring water

steam floats from the cup

I stain the water and breathe in the smell

everything about this drink is calming.

when I press my lips to the cup the world stops

I am still 

and sip by sip my body fills 

and I for a moment get to drift off.

Sleepy

you are lovely 

in bed with your head on the pillow

and your lips pressed softly together 

you are softer than I've ever seen

you are kind

when you pull me close 

and breath in deep

i just love to watch you sleep. 

Poem 2

Anxiety attacks

Anxiety is a thing all people get?

Yes

Everyone gets nervous

Everyone gets shaken

But earthquakes flow from my body

And my skin cracks

And my mind gets taken from me

But all I can do to keep from shaking away

Is tie my feet down like shoe laces on shoes

And bundle up tight to keep my insides from flying away

Like the butterflies I feel in my stomach. 

Poem 1

  

Pill

I took a pill this morning

I’ll take another two tonight

I’ll keep going my head reeling

And then I’ll take several more pills to stop feeling

Pretty soon there will be no pills left

And the feelings will flood in

And then I’ll close my eyes

And try not to feel again.
